Saigon Buddy Tours offers first accessible motorbike tour in Ho Chi Minh City

Saigon Buddy Tours is delighted to announce that going forward we will be working with Disability Research and Capacity Development Vietnam (  As part of DRD’s 1 for Change program (  we will be donating $1 for every guest we take on tour and we will be working with DRD to train our staff and plan our routes to ensure our motorbike tours of Ho Chi Minh City are as accessible as possible to people with disabilities.

If we are honest Saigon is not the easiest place for travellers with disabilities and we hope that we can be part of a growing movement to address that.  DRD does excellent work in the field of training, raising awareness and campaigning to improve the lives of people with disabilities and we are proud to be play our own small part in helping them.

Adapted motorbikes in use by DRD Vietnam

In partnership with DRD we can now offer our guests use of a specially adapted bike with trained driver (who will be a DRD staff member or volunteer) for people with mobility issues.  This means we can offer Ho Chi Minh City tours by Motorbike to people who may otherwise have been excluded.  The bikes are 3 wheeled scooters with passenger support, motorbikes are far and away the most popular choice of transport and very few of the city’s buses or taxis are accessible. When we do offer this service all the fee for that guest will go directly to DRD and we will not charge any extra to the guest. We have already made our first donation to DRD, please share this news and we hope we can make many more donations in the future.
